    • Interviews with landscape architect firms in progress

    • Milton’s community preservation committee recommended grant request for $102,000 to cover Landscape Architectural and Engineering Services- pending Town Meeting approval in May 2026

    • Sen. Driscoll, Rep Wells and Rep Fluker-Reid agreed to earmark $100,000 in FY27 budget for Tucker’s playground

  • Milton’s Community Preservation Committee grant submitted to cover $102,000 in design and engineering costs.

    • Tucker mural project unveiled — thank you to Lee Beard and our student artists! This was grant funded by NEFA, Mass cultural counsel and Milton cultural counsel

    • Site survey completed by Morse Engineering and funded by PTO

Project Timeline

Phase 1 – Planning (2024–2025) completed

  • Playground Committee formed (parents, school, and MPS leadership)

  • Public mural project launched and installed in partnership with artist Lee Beard, students and staff

  • Site survey completed (funded by the PTO)

Phase 2 – Design & Construction Preparation (2025–2026) in progress

  • Design firm selection

  • Community design input

  • Schematic design and design development

  • Finalize construction documents

Phase 3 – Construction (2026–2027)

  • Remove old equipment and install new playground structures

  • Add athletic field, outdoor classroom, and landscaping 

Completion Target- Fall 2027

  • Tucker Mural Project: $34,000 (grant funded)

    Initial Site Survey: $11,000 (PTO funded)

    Landscape architectural and engineering services: $102,000

    Playground equipment: $250,000

    Labor and installation: $125,000

    Site prep and removal: $75,000

    Landscape design and surfacing: $200,000

    Construction contingency (8%): $41,760

    Escalation (2.5%): $13,050
