Annual Appeal

Dear Tucker Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! 

The Tucker PTO helps make our school a vibrant place to learn, grow, and connect. Through the generosity of our families, we fund programs, resources, and experiences that enrich the lives of Tucker students and support our teachers and staff. Last year, the Tucker community raised the PTO’s full operating budget ($47,000) for the first time in many years, which enabled us to continue existing programs, like the Unity Project, and even implement new ones, like morning math enrichment. We also raised over $100,000 to go toward a new playground, which, pending additional funding approvals, is on track to be built in summer 2027!

This year, our operating budget has increased to $52,000, which will support all 417 Tucker students—approximately $125 per student. While we will hold a few additional fundraisers throughout the year, our hope is that the annual appeal will be our primary fundraiser, allowing us to spend less time fundraising and more time supporting our school community.

All annual appeal donations support three main areas within the Tucker Community. For our Teachers & Staff, we purchase helpful classroom resources (such as a school-wide BrainPOP subscription!), plan Teacher Appreciation Week activities, and offer financial support for other teacher-led initiatives. For our extended Community, we use this funding to bring families together through events like the Tucker Fall Adult Social, Trunk-or-Treat, Unity Night, and the Unity Project. We also enhance Student Learning Enrichment by funding educational experiences and resources, including field trip transportation, math enrichment, Calm Corners and Relaxation Stations, assemblies, and other opportunities that enrich students’ learning.

Many employers offer matching gift programs that can increase the impact of your donation. 

The PTO is also entirely volunteer-run. If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out at tuckerptomilton@gmail.com or attend our meetings the second Tuesday of every month in Tucker’s library.
