Our Vision
Tucker Elementary School PTO is leading a multi-year effort to design and build a modern, inclusive playground and outdoor learning space.
The new playground will be fun safe, ADA-accessible, and community-oriented — supporting both student development and neighborhood vitality.
Project Goals
Create a safe and accessible outdoor space for students, neighbors, and families — including those with mobility or vision disabilities.
Encourage creative and active play that supports learning, confidence, and social skills.
Support outdoor education and environmental learning through gardens and an outdoor classroom.
Promote public health and community connection by providing a space for all to be active outdoors.
Why This Project Matters
Time for Tucker
Tucker’s main outdoor playground is limited in its size and scope and is long overdue for upgrades. All other Milton elementary schools made improvements to their playgrounds and outdoor spaces with community support in recent years — but Tucker has not made significant structural changes. It’s time for Tucker students and families to enjoy a safe, modern outdoor space that reflects their school pride and the community’s commitment to its children.
Community Impact
The Tucker playground serves far beyond the school day — it’s a welcoming space for neighborhood families and residents after school, on weekends, and throughout the summer.
Health & Well-Being
A revitalized playground encourages active play, creativity, and social connection for children of all abilities — supporting both physical and emotional health.
Safety First
Aging equipment, asphalt surfaces, and low fencing have led to injuries and restricted play.
The new design will include safe surfacing, updated fencing, and accessible structures, providing a secure environment for all.
