Tucker Cares

Tucker Cares was established in 2017 to to help teach students and families compassion and community service.  This program features students giving back to the community. While there may be limits to what they can do, they can still do something to show kindness to others.

Boks

Get the kids up and exercising! BOKS, founded by Kathleen Tullie, is powered by communities and empowers parents, teachers, schools and local volunteers to give kids a body and brain boost that will set them up for a day of learning.  Tucker School is happy to provide BOKS class in the morning to students.  This program is parent volunteer run and we could use your help!  Please consider contacting us to volunteer to help lead a BOKS class.

Fill out the BOKS permission slip for student participation.

Classes meet in the Tucker Gym before school at 7:30 AM. Class size is limited and is always fun!

MTA/RAD

Meet the Artist (MTA) and Reading about Diversity (RAD) are two wonderful programs that invite parents and guardians into the classroom to teach a quick lesson (approximately 45 minutes) with just a little bit of prep work. Lesson plans are provided for both programs.

In Meet the Artist, students study one artist and work with the parent volunteer to make an art project. All of the supplies are provided by the PTO and are available at the school.

In Reading about Diversity, parents choose a story from the bookshelf in the front office and read it to the class. Afterwards the lesson plans guide the class through questions about diversity, the ways that we are different and the ways that we are the same.

If you would like to volunteer for either of these programs, please contact your room parent.
